I’m feeling a little information overload this month. I think we should all just take a moment here to check in. You know how much I talk about checking in with yourself? I can’t be trusted to do it nearly as often as I should so I’m doing this for me also. It’s going to be good, so stay with me. This is it, we only have this moment. Are you going to show up? You might as well.. come on.. I’m here with you. [Read more…] about CHECK… CHECK…
Lucky people know they are lucky
Does it seem like some people have all the luck? While luck seems to gravitate toward certain people while others seem to never win, research suggests that it is really dependent on outlook. This simple yet powerful behavior change can control your ability to see good fortune. It’s not that there isn’t enough luck, (there’s plenty!) –it’s more a matter of attitude.
Lucky people are resourceful.
They are always keeping an eye out for how to solve a current problem or what can make things better for themselves and others. Because this talent has been refined over time, it may seem things are “instantly” solved for lucky people. This is a trait that can be developed in anyone- no exceptions. Some of the poorest countries have the most happy people and communities- because they are embracing what they have and aren’t looking at what they lack. Perception is a powerful thing. What does this mean, though, when I’m having a bad day? What does this mean when I’m single or in a complicated relationship? Luckily love comes in many forms. Love is the longing for goodness, justice, beauty, and wholeness. It’s everywhere you look. Plants even lovingly lean toward the sun that provides them nourishment. [Read more…] about Valentine's Day

Benefits of Self-Hypnosis
Based on personal experience, I know how busy life can get. Self-Hypnosis takes only a few minutes and can be done as many times a day as you want. For myself, I have found that using self-hypnosis right before I go to sleep, not only helps me work on presenting positive ideas to my subconscious mind but it also helps me get a deeper and more relaxing night’s rest.
Advantages & Benefits
Seeing a Hypnotherapist is the best starting point to begin the process of replacing any negative blocks with positive ideas and self-hypnosis is a method that you can use in between your sessions to continue your progress with balancing your mind and body.
Similar to Hypnotherapy sessions, Self-Hypnosis has just as many advantages and benefits.
Here are a few advantages of Self-Hypnosis:
- Can be done at your convenience
- Can be done anywhere
- Help calm nerves
- Help ease pain
- Helps handle stress more efficiently
- Helps you be more self-aware
Wait! There is more…Sacramento Hypnotherapy would like to see how many of you are interested in learning Self-Hypnosis Techniques. Please email Maude if you are interested in this.
What is Hypnotherapy?
When you hear the word “Hypnosis”, many people’s first impressions are of people walking around a stage clucking like chickens or doing silly things that the stage Hypnotist tells them to do. However, Hypnotherapy is a tool that many people use to help allow their minds to focus on intricate details and make positive changes in their lives. Many people have described Hypnosis as being in a calm and relaxed state. This state is known as the “healing state”. While experiencing hypnosis, people are most open to the power of suggestion & hypnotic instruction. This is when the Hypnotherapist can help the person remove the negative blocks built within their subconscious mind and help replace them with what will serve them to attain and maintain positive change.
Your subconscious mind makes up 95% of your total mind while the other 5% is your conscious mind. Your subconscious mind is where you store all of your thoughts and feelings, as well as your beliefs and values. When someone is in the state of hypnosis it is known as “the straight pathway to the subconscious mind.” [Read more…] about What is Hypnotherapy?
Taking a break by the water
Would you change your vacation destination if you learned that being by water can help you refresh and clear your mind? Studies have shown that being around water calms our minds and our bodies. Something even as simple as a nice long shower or bubble bath, the simple act of being in water refreshes our minds. But I know personally, I have never stopped and thought “taking a long shower always helps me relax”, its just an unspoken truth. Wallace J. Nichols, has written a book about his belief that we all have a “blue mind” (a mildly meditative state characterized by calm, peacefulness, unity and a sense of general happiness and satisfaction with life in the moment) and it is triggered when we are in or near water. In Nichols book, Blue Mind: The surprising Science that Shows How Being Near, In, On, Or Under Water Can Make You Happier, Healthier, More Connected, And Better At What You Do. he discusses 6 important benefits of getting in touch with your “Blue Mind”. Feeding our Mind
With all the new “Lose 20 Lbs. in 10 days” diets popping up all over, it can be daunting to remain consistent with a healthy diet, when it seems to be as simple as grabbing an apple from the fridge instead of grabbing a handful of Doritos to satisfy our need to snack. The food we put in our body is directly related to what we are feeding our mind. The more unhealthy, the worse we feel and the slower our mind processes things. We all know it is easier said than done and have all had moments when we just don’t care. However, the best way to keep our minds healthy is to keep our bodies healthy at the same time.
