Find Your Magic

Recently, someone asked me why I’m such a positive person.

I didn’t know how to answer at first. Not because I hadn’t thought about it before, but because it never felt like a decision I made one day. It felt like something I learned slowly. Quietly. Out of necessity.

Every time life cracked me open, I learned to look for the good hiding in the cracks.

The small wins.

The almost-missed moments.

The tiny signs that said, keep going.

I started celebrating things other people might overlook. A good conversation. A deep breath that actually landed. A moment where things felt calm instead of heavy. I learned to believe that if I wanted something badly enough, and stayed open instead of guarded, it would find its way to me.

I didn’t come to this way of thinking by accident.

It was shaped by moments that didn’t feel magical at the time.

Like the time I lost what I thought was the best job I’d ever had (until this one). At first, there was disappointment. Even resentment for the person I trained. I watched people move forward who didn’t care as much or try as hard, and it hurt. But with time, I realized I had outgrown that role. I was already dreaming beyond it. If that door hadn’t closed, I might have stayed somewhere that no longer fit, simply because it felt safe. It led to so many better opportunities for me and I’ve grown so much.

Or the times when plans completely fell apart. Trips that changed. (Cruises that couldn’t happen.) Opportunities that didn’t work out. Conversations that didn’t go the way I hoped. In the moment, it felt like failure. But later, I could see how those disruptions redirected me toward something more aligned, something I wouldn’t have chosen if I’d been clinging too tightly to the original plan. I know I wouldn’t be where I am if things had gone to plan.

And there were quieter moments too. Times when nothing big was happening, but I chose to notice what was there. A small win. A cute animal… like seeing a pod of dolphins unexpectedly. A kind word. A sense of peace after a long stretch of stress. Those moments taught me that magic doesn’t always arrive loudly. Sometimes it whispers, and you only hear it if you’re paying attention.

That’s when I realized something important.

The way we think doesn’t just change our mood.

It changes how we experience our entire lives.

Your mind is always searching for proof. Proof that things work out or fall apart. That people stay or leave. That you’re supported or on your own. When your thoughts are shaped by fear or past hurt, your world can start to feel smaller. Tighter. Harder to breathe in.

But when you begin training your mind to look for meaning, for softness, for possibility, something shifts.

Your nervous system relaxes.

Your body unclenches.

Your choices come from trust instead of protection.

And slowly, your reality begins to change.

This isn’t about pretending everything is fine. It’s not about forcing positivity or ignoring pain. It’s about choosing where your attention lives. It’s about gently teaching your subconscious that good things are allowed to happen to you too.

That’s the kind of “magic” I believe in.

Hypnotherapy works at this level. It helps quiet the old mental loops that keep you braced for the worst, and replaces them with patterns that feel safer, calmer, and more hopeful. Not because life suddenly becomes perfect, but because you feel more grounded inside it.

So as we step into a new year, I want to offer a different kind of invitation.

Instead of asking yourself what needs to be fixed…

Ask yourself where the magic is already showing up.

Maybe it’s subtle.

A moment of peace.

A door opening.

A sense of “this feels right” you didn’t expect.

Those moments matter. They’re not accidents. They’re evidence.

And if you’d like support shifting your mindset, releasing old mental patterns, or reconnecting with that sense of belief and possibility, hypnotherapy can help.

✨ This January, Sacramento Hypnotherapy is offering Mindset Magic Reset sessions designed to help you reconnect with clarity, calm, and trust in what’s unfolding.

You already have the magic.

Sometimes we just need help remembering how to see it.
