Does it seem like some people have all the luck? While luck seems to gravitate toward certain people while others seem to never win, research suggests that it is really dependent on outlook. This simple yet powerful behavior change can control your ability to see good fortune. It’s not that there isn’t enough luck, (there’s plenty!) –it’s more a matter of attitude.
Lucky people are resourceful.
They are always keeping an eye out for how to solve a current problem or what can make things better for themselves and others. Because this talent has been refined over time, it may seem things are “instantly” solved for lucky people. This is a trait that can be developed in anyone- no exceptions. Some of the poorest countries have the most happy people and communities- because they are embracing what they have and aren’t looking at what they lack. Perception is a powerful thing.
Lucky people seize the day!
However, first they are observant. Slowing down to take in the whole big picture and discern what stands out can help you train your mind. It’s not impossible to find a four-leaf clover, though you can spend all day desperately looking and never find one. How can you gaze upon life as if it were a blanket of clover? Every day you will get better and better at stepping out onto that bed of clover we call life and casually spotting four-leaf clovers (opportunities), and then, seizing the day.
Lucky people have bad days.
You’ve heard that it doesn’t matter how many times you fall, it just matters how many times you get back up. Accept that bad days will happen and you will be able to navigate better through them. You should also take care of yourself if you want to weather the storms in life! The ability to bend with life’s rough patches without breaking is a trait of lucky people. With resilience, you aren’t sitting around wallowing over curve balls, you’re getting back in the game working on your swing.
Lucky people know they are lucky.
They expect good things to come to them. Because of this they allow more good stuff to come to them. It sounds simple but unconscious blinders are more common than we are, well, conscious of! A positive outlook, where you expect to be taken care of and for good things to find you will have a domino effect.
Be lucky, acknowledge it-relish in it.
